I’m thrilled to read all of the art blogs talking about
“Late Bloomer Phyllida Barlow” http://news.artnet.com/art-world/late-bloomer-phyllida-barlow-on-tackling-tate-britain%e2%80s-%e2%80over-authoritarian%e2%80-duveen-galleries-8049?utm_campaign=artnetnews&utm_source=032414daily&utm_medium=email
and in artdaily.org
“Tate Britain today unveiled dock 2014, the largest and most ambitious work to date by sculptor Phyllida Barlow (b. 1944). The work has been created for the annual Tate Britain Commission 2014, supported by Sotheby’s. The commission invites artists to make new work in response to Tate’s collection of British and international art and to the grand spaces of the Duveen Galleries at the heart of Tate Britain.”
This coming on the heels of my post yesterday about Helen Pashigan celebrating her first solo presentation at a major museum NOW at the age of 80!!!
I so hope that this trend continues…”artists never retire, they just keep on making art.”
Enjoy the art blog articles!
