Memories@MoBot @mobotgarden with Brooking Park friends #aging #alzheimers #dementia

It’s always a thrill for me to start my day in the garden and what better garden could there be for this than the Missouri Botanical Garden? Apparently everyone else thought so, too. There were loads of adorable children attending day camp projects, older adults and everyone in between. Of particular interest to me, was the group we (Maturity and Its Muse and the Garden) hosted from St. Andrews Senior Services’ Brooking Park’s Memory Care Unit.

We all had a marvelous time talking about plants and flowers that magically attract butterflies. We each made an arrangement to take home that would for certain bring butterflies, especially the swallow tail to flutter by. Please take a look at one of the arrangements (mine) in process. Yes, I know it has a long way to go. Speaking of magic, hopefully someone will wave a wand and it will be beautiful enough to attract butterflies.

Memories@MoBot is a monthly program jointly produced by the Garden and Maturity and Its Muse. Next month, the group will be talking about and making an arrangement that will reflect the “Lantern Festival..magic reimagined.” I haven’t been inside, yet, but the Garden entrance certainly speaks to the magic one will find inside.
